Grandson of Necessity

You’ve probably heard the saying “Necessity is the mother of Invention.”

If you look around with both eyes and mind open, you can find examples. Problem crossing a river? Invent a better boat. Or figure out how to build a bridge.

Let’s follow a little longer. Who is Invention’s son?

Rusty leaving his final shift

Meet Rusty! He’s a hard-working man from the middle of Tennessee. Following tradition, he worked in a factory, making those inventions his mother created. For years, he and his siblings earned a living wage and raised families. Along the way he instilled the value of education and hard work in his children – Technology and Communication.

Living a year in a motorhome, Serena Carter increased her appreciation for the “Rustys” of the world. Factory assembly lines enabled her to live in campgrounds and photograph Missouri State Parks. Find her sweet romance story in Morning Tryst by following the link. https://amzn.to/35gH37S

Friday Fun

It’s Friday!!! Celebrate the end of the work week with something to put a smile on your face.

Food is the first thing that comes to my mind. Unfortunately, it wants to linger at waist and hips. So what’s something calorie free that makes you smile?

This flamingo quartet in a neighbor’s flower garden might be a place to start.

Perhaps a pet – yours or another’s – makes you chuckle with their antics. Open both eyes, unplug the music from your ears, and observe the world around you. Humor is lurking in unexpected places — even unpopular co-workers or supervisors are full of surprises. (Might be best to laugh when they are out of the room.)

This sweet romance contains touches of both suspense and humor. After all — how can you not find a spot of humor when kids and dogs in the same place. So pour yourself a cool drink, settle into your chair, and spend some hours in fictional Crystal Springs. Seed of Desire was rated five paws by Dancer.

The Lighter Side

Okay — US Thanksgiving Day is over.

Did you eat well? Dining on leftovers today? Recovering from the relatives? Preparing for Christmas shopping?

May I suggest a pause to read a little and find your smile.

At least one of the trio above should bring a smile to your lips and a chuckle into the room. Animal stories told in a lighthearted style. Another sort of animal described in the adventures of raising children in the 1960’s suburbs. And to really step back in time — join the antics of courtship, marriage, and love (not necessarily in that order) presented by a modern author.

So…this author’s advice. Take a book break on the light side to prepare you for the hustle and bustle of the modern year-end holidays.
